The NYPD trained its officers that the keffiyeh and the watermelon are antisemitic symbols. On September 29th, Mayor Zohran Mamdani released a 33-page Strategy to Combat Antisemitism that names the NYPD as one of its four core partners — five days after that department arrested more than 100 people protesting Benjamin Netanyahu.
I went through every endnote in the report. 49.1% of its citations draw on Zionist-affiliated sources. Nearly a third come from explicit pro-Israel advocacy organizations. And in the section that establishes the threat the entire program responds to, 61.5% of the data comes from just two: the American Jewish Committee and UJA-Federation.
The plan is modeled on Joe Biden's national strategy. J Street praised it. The ADL attacked it anyway. The organizations consulted disagreed only about how Zionist it should be.
This is not a video denying antisemitism in New York. It's a video about what gets counted as antisemitism, who decided, and who ends up on the other end of the enforcement.
