I’m free from detention by Border Patrol at US customs in LAX. Agents had me detained for an hour and a half. I was informed during the interrogation that this was a targeted measure made against me.
The message they’re attempting to send is this: Don’t advocate for others.
To that I say FUCK NO.
Border Patrol told me that demanding to know what my rights were and asking to contact my lawyers made me “suspicious”. They informed me that I had NO RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN CITIZEN including no right to get access to inform legal experts of my current situation.
I am begging Americans to wake up and realize that our state is AFRAID of us and our people power. They are treating us like enemy scum because they wish to scare us into compliance and submission.
They came after me. They are coming after brown and black people. They are coming after Palestinians and activists and journalists. The systems they are strengthening are coming after YOU next. We must stand strong together, or fall divided.
My next video will focus on the ongoing ethnic cleansing of thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank before I sit down and give the full breakdown of my harassment at the border today. I wish I could feel safe in my own country.
