UPDATE: Seven Ships Down, Hundreds Kidnapped at Gunpoint — Where Is Everybody?

UPDATE on the Global Sumud Flotilla: Israel Army Radio is now reporting that naval forces have seized seven of the 58 vessels near the Greek island of Crete . The flotilla itself is calling it what it is “a straight-up attack on unarmed civilian boats in international waters” , with boat communications being jammed and an SOS issued . Press officer Gur Tsabar put it bluntly: this amounts to illegal detention, potentially kidnapping on the high seas. Silence right now is absolute complicity.

I need everyone reading this to understand exactly what these 400+ people are being taken into. When the last flotilla was intercepted in October 2025, the testimonies that came out afterward were horrific. Detainees described denial of essential medication and medical care, lack of clean water and food, sleep deprivation in the Negev Desert, soldiers deliberately making noise to prevent rest, and being held at gunpoint in overcrowded cells. A US activist described being “kidnapped, stripped, zip-tied, blindfolded and sent to an internment camp” with no food, water, or legal access followed by five days of psychological torture.

And it got worse: a German journalist, Anna Liedtke, came forward saying she was raped by Israeli female guards during a forced strip search. Two other activists described being stripped naked and sexually assaulted, with one having a gun held to his head while officers pulled at his genitals. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition is now calling for an ICC investigation into sexual violence against its volunteers.

This is what 400 people are being dragged toward right now and the conditions have gotten worse.

On March 30, the Knesset passed the Death Penalty for Terrorists Law by a vote of 62 to 48, mandating death by hanging for offenses classified as “terrorism related” and as written, it applies exclusively to Palestinians, with sentences carried out within 90 days of a final ruling. Human Rights Watch called it a “two-tiered system of justice” and a “hallmark of apartheid,” noting that military trials of Palestinians have a roughly 96% conviction rate based largely on confessions extracted under duress and torture. When the bill passed, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir a man with previous convictions for far-right “terrorism” was seen brandishing champagne on the Knesset floor. This is the same Ben-Gvir who personally inspected the flotilla detainees last October and called them “supporters of terrorism” who “deserve the conditions of terrorists.”

There are Palestinians on this flotilla. There are Palestinians I personally know connected to this mission. They are being delivered into a state that just legalized hanging them, run by a man who wears a noose pin on his lapel and pours champagne every time the apartheid net tightens. Hundreds of civilians doctors, journalists, lawyers, medics are being taken at gunpoint in international waters by a military with a documented pattern of sexual violence and torture, en route to a legal system where 96% of Palestinians get convicted on coerced confessions and now face mandatory execution.

Get in the streets. Call your reps. Flood every platform you have. Tag every journalist who covers anything but this. Pressure your government to demand the immediate release of every person on those ships. The flotilla put their bodies on the line so Gaza wouldn’t be alone and the absolute least we can do is refuse to let them disappear into a black site while the world looks away. They are counting on us. Don’t let them be right to.
