A major force behind unconditional support for Israel in the U.S. is the theological doomsday cult that rules over the country. Christian Zionism teaches that the return of Jews to historic Palestine is a prerequisite for the “end times,” where many Jews either convert or face destruction. So basically, the same movement loudly claiming to defend Israel is rooted in a belief system that ultimately envisions the disappearance of Jews.
This is the crazed ideology that currently shapes foreign policy, influences elections, and drives billions in aid, while being framed as moral support.
