There’s a reason the United States continues underwriting Israel with billions in military aid every year. Israel’s “Samson Option” doctrine, the idea (documented by analysts like Seymour Hersh) that Israel would use its nuclear arsenal as a last-resort deterrent if facing existential collapse.
Once foreign policy becomes structurally locked in through lobbying, weapons contracts, intelligence sharing, and geopolitical doctrine, walking away stops being simple. It becomes unthinkable within the system itself. Do NOT underestimate the levels they would go to protect their colonial empire.
