Trump won the 2024 election ultimately because Kamala Harris failed to change her policies in any significant way from Joe Biden. Biden being one of the most unpopular presidents ever lead to the first time the democrats losing the popular vote since 2004. This loss demonstrated that internally the democratic part needs to change in a way to great differentiate itself from the republicans.
