Christianity was never meant to be the religion of Zionist billionaires. The teachings of Jesus repeatedly condemned wealth hoarding and called for solidarity with the poor. From driving money changers out of the temple to telling the rich to redistribute their wealth, the gospel was written FOR the oppressed.
In the 1960s, Christians across Latin America took those teachings seriously. Liberation Theology reframed poverty as a structural sin created by systems like imperialism, colonialism, and capitalism. It transformed Christianity into a political movement for the poor. An ideaology that fundamentally threatened elites across the hemisphere.
The U.S. backed right-wing dictatorships through Operation Condor, the School of the Americas trained officers who later led death squads, and the Vatican under John Paul II moved to silence liberation theologians. Priests were disappeared, nuns were murdered, and leaders like Óscar Romero were assassinated.
Liberation theology had to be crushed because a gospel that empowers the poor is a threat to every empire on Earth.
