In September, Banksy unveiled a mural condemning the UK’s censorship of Palestine Action, the direct-action network targeting Israeli arms manufacturers operating on British soil. So the UK government erased it.
Even anonymous street art is now treated as a threat if it exposes imperial partnerships. The mural didn’t glorify violence, it highlighted complicity in international crimes. That alone was enough for the state to send in a cleanup crew.
