The loudest defenders of Israel in the U.S. aren’t even Jewish. They’re Evangelicals who think Israel has to exist so Jesus can come back and kill everyone who doesn’t convert, including Jews. It’s basically apocalyptic fetishism dressed up as foreign policy.
