Let's talk about everything Israel has recently done to every one of their neighbors. They cannot continue to escape justice when it comes to destroying all of their neighbors and taking their land.
For those who don’t know, one mitzvah a day is a Zionist email campaign that you sign up to be a part of. Every day, they text you a story of someone who has “ stood up to antisemitism” (or some other Zionist BS) WITH A LINK TO EMAIL that person thanking and supporting them.
Actually, I came across the mitzvah website because I was looking for positive ways to strengthen my daughter‘s connection to her Judaism. I look for ways to show her the beautiful parts of her religion, in a time when it is conflated with with a hateful and murderous political regime. I repeatedly tell her that the best people on the planet today are Jews… specifically, the Jews that stand up for what’s moral and just in spite of Zionist upbringings. (I got the quote from an Tadhg Hickey when he referred to these Jews as “the very best of us.”) Norman Finklestein, Gabor Mate, Gideon Levi,
Avi Schlaim, Miko Peled, Ilan Pappe, Dr. Mark Braverman, Amos Goldberg…please look them up. I could not love them more.
What if we all signed up for “One Mitzvah a Day” (google it) and then instead of sending emails that praise Zionist activity, we could customize our emails and condemn what they are asking us to praise?
I originally signed up for it because I believed the BS they were using to promote it (“in this time of political strife around Judaism, let’s get back to our roots and do good for the world!” ). I though it was going to be innocent stuff like “smile at a stranger today” and it would be a good way to remind my 1/2 Jewish daughter that Judaism is separate from Zionism and she can be a good Jew and be against Zionism. Why was I even surprised when this turned out to just be Zionist bs propaganda. 🤦♀️ Regardless, that’s why I gave them my number in the first place… Because I misunderstood what it was. But I’m glad I did because now I can keep an eye on what they’re doing.
