Maj. Gen. Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, Israel’s former military advocate general, has been arrested after confessing to leaking the Sde Teiman torture footage, the same footage that showed Israeli soldiers raping and sexually assaulting a Palestinian detainee inside a torture camp.
This man was brutalized leaving him with a torn rectum, broken ribs, and massive internal injuries.
Tomer-Yerushalmi and her former chief prosecutor Col. Matan Solomosh are being held on suspicion of “obstruction,” “breach of trust,” and a long list of bureaucratic offenses for daring to expose what Israel tried to bury.
She allegedly staged a suicide attempt to destroy her phone and was found alive at a beach with one device missing, now suspected of containing more evidence.
Leave it to Israel to prosecute their own whistleblowers instead of actual war criminals. Apparently nothing is off the table when you’re operating under the guise of “self defense”
